Seven Ways to Leverage the Power of LeaderGuide Pro

LeaderGuide Pro is designed to make it easy to create a facilitator guide or participant guide

  • All you have to do is click New on the LeaderGuide Pro ribbon and then click OK as you move through the setup prompts

With that said, to leverage the true power of LeaderGuide Pro

  • take a few minutes to understand the options you will be presented with, and
  • map out what you need to build 

This will allow you to make setup choices that will streamline your development work

#1 Learn the Lingo

Learn the key words and phrases for the LeaderGuide Pro actions and outcomes


 #2 Know Your Options

Start a new Facilitator Guide using each of the different layout and Collection options to see which ones will best meet your needs

Learn how the guidebooks are organized to understand how to add your content

 



#3 Have a Course Outline

The Start a New Guidebook routine includes the option to

Take advantage of this option to get a big jump start on the build out of your new guidebook

Modules and Lessons correlate to

  • your course outline topics and subtopics and

  • create the main body of your guidebooks 

Dropping in at least an initial course outline helps you

  • order your thoughts and

  • work more productively and

  • assign team members guidebook portions to build or review

 


 #4 Save your Outline with the Guidebook Design Template

You can enter your course outline into the Guidebook Design Template wizard as a first step - before you start a new guidebook

  • This allows you to focus on adding your outline it without the pressure of creating a new guidebook

After entering your outline you will save it as a Custom Template within the Guidebook Design Template wizard

  • This allows you to move through the start a new guidebook process efficiently and easily create new outlines based on your requirements

 


#5 Have your PowerPoint file ready to use

If you intend to start the build of your guidebook from PowerPoint 

  • Have the correct PowerPoint file open and cleaned up 

  • Make a note of how the slides are to be disbursed across your Modules and Lessons 

  • Decide what you will be importing:

    • just slide images

    • slides and notes

    • the text from the slides



#6 Set your Preferences

Make LeaderGuide Pro your own by setting global preferences that will automatically apply every time you use the software

  • Upload your logo, to appear on your cover pages

  • Add your Copyright information, to appear on the Acknowledgements pages

  • Edit the Facilitator Guide column headings that appear on Lesson pages

  • Set your Preferred Collection to apply when you start a new Guidebook

  • And more



#7 Understand the LGP Styles

The LGP Styles play a key role in supporting the proper functioning of the LeaderGuide Pro software
