How to Share a Free Trial Document

Steps for sharing LeaderGuide Pro free trial content without causing access or compatibility issues.

Overview

During the LeaderGuide Pro free trial, documents are locked to your computer and can’t be opened on other devices, preventing sharing in editable Word format. To share your content, convert your free trial document to PDF. PDFs can be viewed and distributed freely, even after your trial ends.

1. Open the LeaderGuide Pro Document

Launch Microsoft Word.
Go to the LeaderGuide Pro tab in the Ribbon.
Click OPEN.
Browse to your free trial document and open it.

Note:

During the free trial, you must open documents using the OPEN button on LeaderGuide Pro’s ribbon. Opening them through File Explorer or Word’s Recent list will cause access restrictions.

2. Review and Finalize Your Content

Before converting the document to PDF:

Check formatting
Confirm page breaks
Verify your guide content and notes

Once finalized, proceed to the export step.

3. Convert or Export the Document to PDF

In Word, select File.
Click Save As or Export.
Choose PDF (*.pdf) as the file type.
Choose a save location.
Click Save.

4. Share the PDF File

Once the PDF has been created, you can share it using any method you prefer:

Email attachment
Cloud storage link (OneDrive, SharePoint, Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.)
File upload in a learning platform or LMS

Because it's a PDF, recipients will be able to view it without needing LeaderGuide Pro.

5. Keep the Original Free Trial File

Even though others can’t open your trial Word document, you can still open and modify it as long as:

Your trial is active
You are using the same computer
You open it using LeaderGuide Pro's ribbon
